Journaling is an incredibly powerful tool for many things, including self-love. It can be a daily practice you turn into a habit or ritual where you consistently build up your feelings of self-worth, esteem, and confidence. It’s an amazing feeling to have a notebook full of words that are generally positive about your mind, body, and life which can remind you of your awesomeness just by looking at it! It can also be a tool for dealing with depression.
I made you a list of different kinds of self love writing prompts which can be used in any way you decide. You can answer them in a notebook, in an art journal, on a Word document, or in an Instagram caption. The possibilities for how you express your thoughts and feelings to these concepts and questions are endless, and I’m really excited at the thought of you using them. By the way, I write for me too!
Speaking of which, I’m going to be starting a new series where twice a month I’ll share one person’s response to one of the following prompts. Are you interested in being featured on Uncustomary? If so, please send me an e-mail (mary@uncustomary.org) with the subject “Self Love Writing Prompts” and let me know which prompt you’re interested in writing about. I’ll respond with more specifics, like what exactly I’d need from you.
This is first come first serve, so if someone claims your prompt before you, you’ll have to choose another one. Same goes with the order in which the posts will be published. Remember there’s only two slots a month, so the sooner you e-mail me, the sooner we can get your post up! Alright! That said, let’s get into the good stuff.

Hello my friends and I are starting 2017 out on a self love journey by participating in a weekend retreat the first weekend in January. I was wondering if you had anything we could use that weekend. I wanted to surprise the girls with prompts and a journal for the year
Hi Danielle! What exactly are you looking for? I have these fifty journal prompts and then some additional self-esteem/self-worth prompts in my arsenal. Want to send me an e-mail? Mary@uncustomary.org
This is the perfect time for me to find this… I suffer from a severe panic disorder, anxiety, and depression, and have only been out of my past abusive relationship for a year and a half. I have no self love right now, and the holidays have made everything worse. But these prompts speak to me; I’m going to start on the 27th and I really think this will help me learn to at least like myself again. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing, Loliqua. I’m really sorry you’re struggling with so many mental illnesses at once. I know what that’s like and it sucks. If you’d like to sign up to have one of your entries featured on my site, send me an e-mail! I’d love to share your work. <3
