Recently, I’ve had to call upon all of my skills to take care of my sick human. She’s sleeping almost as much as I am, and isn’t even playing with yarn. I’ve been making rounds to attend to her regularly, and it seems that she isn’t going to die.

This got me thinking about how it is my duty to protect her, as well as many of the other things in this house and my life. Having a PhD doesn’t just mean that you’re medically capable of knocking over medicine bottles and purring in people’s faces. You also have a real responsibility to not let most things die.

Crickets, birds, bunnies, spiders, etc. are all supposed to die.

Here are some things that I am required to protect:

human
TV
bags
yarn
scratching post
crinkle paper and bows
underwear
all flowers
mail
feet
