It’s September and it’s still 90 degrees. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but I want to wear boots and hoodies. Or at least have the option so when I wear sleeveless dresses and flip flops people can say, “What is wrong with you, where is your jacket?!” I don’t know what I’m saying. I’m pretty tired right now, just blow past it.
Hey, if you can knit or crochet and want to participate in a collaborative guerrilla art project, make sure you check this out! And don’t forget that Inspiration For Your Inbox is on sale right now. I also added some new things to the shop like rainbow glitter pills and funny door knob hangers.
Here are some things that have been making me happy lately:
1. A vending machine full of colorful ducks
2. Buying myself chocolate after stuffing my stomach with Indian food
3. Pulling up to Cristen’s house, looking across the street, and seeing her creepily staring at me while eating an egg roll
4. The meta puzzles from the Puzzle Art Project arriving
5. Playing mini golf with Joe
6. Colorful homes in Baltimore
7. This heart tree stump seat my neighbors carved
8. Tie-dye ice cream
9. On Wednesdays We Wear Pink
10. Dancing when the mail truck comes
Extra Happiness: * the best tacos ever at a Food Network approved restaurant in a gas station * getting back the edited photos for my book * the super full moon on Saturday * seeing single sunflowers while I’m out driving * Red’s apple ciders * my neighbor making me pasta salad * watching season 3 of The Mindy Project and season 6 of The League coming on Netflix * my friends running around my room in leotards * being really unfancy at fancy restaurants * starting to read Yes, Please by Amy Poehler * my friend Leigh’s letter to her 15-year-old self * going to Costco with my mom and getting new pillows
What’s on your happy list this week?
I wish I could knit or sew! I am getting a sewing machine from my in-laws this weekend and am super excited to start sewing. Now just need to find the space to set it up????
We have a bright purple house a block away from our boring tan house and I am sure it would make you smile 🙂
Have a great week.
Oh man, I can knit but I can NOT sew! I am so bad at using a sewing machine it’s ridiculous. I’m so happy you’re getting one and I hope you learn it with ease!
Aw, that sounds beautiful. I would love to see!
Where is there a machine full of toy ducks?? I must go to there!
It’s in the arcade part of the Glow In The Dark Monster Mini Golf building in Jessup, MD. (Full post on that experience coming soon!)
Gah! *hugs*
❤
Those houses are friggin beautiful! I feel you on the weather, it needs to change. It was 106 where I live in CA and I pretty much felt like dropping dead on the spot when I went outside in a (very much not needed) cardigan… Have you seen Cotton Candy ice cream at Rite Aid/Thrifty? It reminds me of the Tye Dye, so pretty with pinks+blues @__@
106! Holy hell, and I always think about California having perpetually perfect weather because the two times I’ve been there it’s been like mid-70’s the entire time. I haven’t seen that ice cream! I will have to go to Rite Aid and check it out. Sounds like a cotton candy sunset!
Love those houses! Your pink dress is to die for, I want it in about ten different colors please! My happy today was going into our dear little state capital and buying things that make me happy without second guessing or feeling guilty! Yay for quirky postcards, my new little pile of beads to play with and some ‘cheep’artists acrylics to color the stripes of the faux wood panels in my living room..! Hugs, Carroll
Oh that sounds awesome!! I love buying new postcards and going to the gift shop (first). Enjoy all your new goodies! And thank you! That dress is from ASOS.
I’ve been wanting to try that gas station Mexican restaurant – glad to hear you liked it! 🙂
I went there two years ago for the first time and it was awesome. I had to kind of omit the fact that it was in a gas station to get my boyfriend there, but he’s super picky with food and has really high standards from working in a kitchen most of his adult life, so when he said they were the best tacos he had ever had I was like BOOM. Hahah. You’re probably going to want to eat in your car though, FYI. There are a couple stools attached to a counter top but the space is very cramped and it’s just better to go eat outside. 🙂
