I apologize for the length of time since the last round of my Snail Mail Game Show! Round 4 was new and improved, where participants had to pay a small entry fee. I allowed all countries to participate, but unfortunately I learned that international mail just isn’t as speedy as it needs to be in most countries for this to work.
The reason so much time passed between Round 4 and 5 is because certain countries were super slow in receiving their challenges, and I didn’t want to just post the results when people had paid an entry fee! For this reason, I am strongly discouraging non-US participants for future rounds of the Snail Mail Game Show. Basically, if you really want to sign up from another country, it’s at your own risk. You’ll still be held to the same deadline, and if your submission doesn’t get to me on time I won’t be able to refund your entry fee. You can check out the official Snail Mail Game Show page for more info.
Okay! Now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on to the results from Round 5!
Round 5 participants received their challenge to make an artistamp, which is just a faux postage stamp. All they were given was the outline of a postage stamp and instructions to use any mediums available to make their own stamp! The results were pretty fantastic.
Round 5 Submissions
Artist: Tranifer Lovely of WonkyCritters
Cats against cat calls. Pet rage, social commentary, or both?
Artist: Sonya Ann
Tapping into our inner sleuth we can solve all of life’s mysteries

A photograph of canceled postage spelling the word ‘stamp’ ON an artistamp? Meta As Fuck
Artist: Amelia Grace
The most purrrfect mermaid I’ve ever seen
Artist: Caitlin H.
I don’t know about you, but I want to hang out with that owl
Artist: Maryanna
Pink and inspirational, I would love to use this to mail my letters
Artist: Petra of exposingARTS
Glittery unicorn on felt, yes please. She even sent an explanation:
“The Unicorn Express ran from years 51-69 and established a nationwide system for deliveries. It was the first delivery service of its kind and set the precedence for all systems after it. Fantasia has never been the same.”
And the winner is…. Amelia, with the cat mermaid! She will receive a special surprise in the mail from me!
I’ve already got five people signed up for Round 6! You want a chance to express yourself creatively and enter for a chance to win? Check out the official Snail Mail Game Show page where you can learn about the rules and sign up! And yes, you can sign up for multiple rounds at once, if you feel like paying for a few months all at once! Whatever works for you.
Sign up goes from now till October 4th and 6 pm EST. If you sign up after that, your name will be added to the list for Round 7. Challenges will be mailed out October 5th, and submissions will need to reach me by November 2nd.
Questions for the comments:
1) Which one is your favorite?
2) What would you put on a postage stamp if you could?
These are all so good! I really like the owl and cute houses on Caitlin’s and Amelia’s is so fun and beautifully drawn. But if these were real stamps, my favorite is Petra’s, especially if they were made with felt and glitter!
Very good point. I really wish our stamps were made out of felt.
I love the lady sleuth the best so YAY Sonya Ann but feel the positivity on Maryanna’s is so lovely I would have difficulty NOT buying that for my letter s:)
Aw yea, me too!
