Let’s remove the sentence structure, “I (insert exercise/movement activity here), so I can eat (insert a food you want here)” from our vocabulary. Hula hooping for so long you break a sweat and eating a donut are independent activities. Moving your body and eating healthy are important aspects of healthcare, but you aren’t in a contract meeting with your body, constantly bargaining for what is okay to do because you can justify it with something else. Exercise because you want to. Eat the donut because you want to. Stop creating connections and guilt that don’t need to exist.
