#96 on my 100 Ways To Be Creative list was to make your own sketch design, aka scratch art. You know those black sheets, that when you scratch them with a coin or toothpick, colors pop up? It’s that.
Here is the end result:
The first step is to just cover paper in color blocks out of crayons.

The next step is to cover the entire paper with Tempera Paint. A huge bottle like this was about $2 at Michaels. As you paint it on little streaks emerge which is really fun.

And then the last step is, after waiting for the paint to dry, to take something sharp (I used toothpicks) and etch in designs. It’s a fun process. This is where I got the initial idea a few years ago. I did it with members at work a while back.
