Hello! I hope you’re doing well. I don’t celebrate traditional Easter, but I have fun with the festivities, especially getting my picture taken with the Easter bunny (see below). I’ve also been busy with the Guerrilla Love Signs, seeing surf punk bands in bowling alleys, and visiting the Baltimore Museum Of Art. There are some really fantastic exhibits there right now, and it’s free! Also, the day we went there, we found this group of people who were starting to gather for an event wearing the most incredible, extravagant hats I’ve ever seen (also below).
My friend and old boss, LaShandra, messaged me to tell me that I’m (paraphrasing) living proof if you go outside feeling grateful and expecting to find whimsy and the beauty in human existence, it will cross your path. And she’s right! I actually plan to write a whole post about this, but so many people write me every day that they feel like their life is “boring” and they wish things could be like my life. Remember that I’m actively going out and searching for stuff! I’m also going out with a positive attitude, waiting for magic because I believe it’s possible. If I can be happy for thirty years in a city that’s known around the world exclusively for rats, murder, and soft crabs, I’m pretty sure you can find whimsy in your own life, too. We just have to not only be open, but be willing to look. Case in point, I saw a man walking a dog while playing a giant drum. I stopped my car to take a video and the light turned green, and none of the other cars honked for me to go because it was so damn amazing.
