One of my next assignments in Finish This Book was to research neurobics. I really like the idea of increasing our brain activity and power by doing relatively simple things. Do the same thing, but with your non dominant hand. That simple. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about ruts and feeling like I’m on autopilot, so this was a nice thing to read about tonight.

So often I think I’m just going through the motions, but I don’t have to. It’s definitely a lot easier to, but by doing that I am actively choosing boredom and some degree of sadness. I’ve been so sure of what makes me happy that I’ve just been doing those things without any thought. It’s incredibly easy for me to sit on the couch and watch the same season of the same show that I know will make me laugh. But the longer I sit, the harder it is to get up.
Another assignment was to create a space (on a blank page) that I can retreat to. This is what I came up with.

One of my summer goals is to complete 30 more pages from this book. I have not made a dent in that yet. That will be my next focus. You know, along with brainstorming about Etsy, writing, street art, and making paper plate instruments. 🙂
