When people think about Park City in Utah, their mind goes to the winter skiing and snowboarding. But, actually, during the summertime the area has a vast number of things for vacationers to do. Thinking about yourself, whether you’re into great hikes, gentle walks along an old-fashioned Main Street with hillside views in the background, or dining out sitting high up for impressive scenic views, there’s plenty to keep you busy.

Here are four fun things to do in Park City.

Historic Main Street

Park City was once part of the silver mining tradition and this is evident in the buildings lining nine blocks of Main Street, which look very much like such towns did during the Gold & Silver Rush in the late 1800s. More recently, the city has embraced the local skiing culture which attracts many people every year during the winter months. Copious shopping opportunities abound, plus cafés to sip a coffee and people watch, and restaurants to grab a bite.

There are also many art galleries in the area that display local artists and ones from further afield. Anyone with an interest in modern art will find plenty to enjoy when they’re tired from shopping in local stores. A convenient trolley runs the length of Main Street to ferry passengers back and forth for free.

Guardsman Pass Scenic Backway

Taking a drive through to the Wasatch Mountain Range is a 14-mile journey straight to the summit. Nestled between Park City Mountain Resort and Big Cottonwood Canyon, it is an excellent place to take in the selection of wild flowers and wildlife that abounds in the area. The roads are paved to make the short trip a smooth one most of the way, only turning to gravel half-way through.

The view from the Guardsman Pass is worth the modest hike to get up there. The selfies from that location are sure to be breathtaking, so don’t forget to bring your camera or smartphone with you. The drive doesn’t take much more than an hour and is scenic in spots too. The trip is only possible during the spring, summer and fall months because the snowfall blocks the access road during the winter.

High West Distillery & Saloon

Visiting the High West Distillery & Saloon is quite the experience. The grub takes its inspiration from the Old West with short ribs braised with bourbon and plenty of spirits and craft whiskeys to wash it down. Organized tours of both the distillery and the saloon are available to learn more about operations today and its storied history. The distillery is 16 miles away in Wanship and the saloon is just off Main Street.

Comfortable Accommodations

After a long day sightseeing or shopping, it’s nice to come home to a relaxed setting and a comfortable bed. Resort Property Management offers suitable rentals for vacationers who come as single people or couples. The location of the rentals is convenient both to the center of Park City and the surrounding attractions in the summertime.

A vacation in Park City is a great way to unwind from a busy home life. Whether taking in the scenery or enjoying the local eateries, the city has a little bit of everything to please different kinds of visitors.
