I feel so much more officially a part of the Get Messy group. It’s only been a week, but it’s such a welcoming place full of talented people. Art journaling is easily becoming a regular part of my life, and I’m grateful for everything and everyone involved in it.

These pages include things that I’ve received from other people. On the left is a photo of a field in Switzerland that Rachel sent me as a thank you for her Monthly Marvels packages. On the right is a sticker I received from Adam JK, who is a brilliant mastermind. I like how the themes mesh, even if the colors “clash”. No, not everything is made of fairy dust, but a lot is. And the happier you are, the more fairy dust you’ll see.

Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning (hence my book giveaway), and I discovered some old art journals and general artwork. I decided to incorporate some of the things I found into my pages this week, including these backgrounds I had created using acrylic paint and a scraping technique. It’s really easy, just use an old credit card.

A little self love in honor of Gala’s Radical Self Love July photo challenge. No, this isn’t one of the prompts, but I’m into the idea of making this month about self love. I am enough, and so are you.

And just some fun stuff like fruit loops and gold glitter. Have you ever thought about the difference between feeling alive and feeling inspired? Which do you prefer? Or are they one and the same?

One of the other things I found was a drawing of a mermaid fin I did years ago. I added some things to it, like this Anais Nin quote:

I must be a mermaid for I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.
