Color Your Clit: A Zine About Masturbation
This past summer when I launched my Kickstarter campaign, I got lots of e-mails and Facebook messages asking me if my book on self love was actually about masturbation. Now, masturbation is a fabulous aspect of self love, but my book is about much more than that.
Recently, I was being interviewed on a podcast and we talked about the term self love and how it can often imply masturbation. We joked that it would be really funny if I had done all this work just to release a pamphlet about masturbation and I posted that thought on Facebook. Immediately, my good friend, Charlotte Hager, commented “Need an illustrator?!”
That’s when I realized this is actually a really awesome idea. Let’s celebrate masturbation (AKA literal self love) with a zine! Charlotte is an exceptional human being. She’s an artist, but she’s also passionate about sexuality and reproductive health, making her the ideal person to collaborate with for this project!
Our zine is not safe for work. There are drawings of genitalia. If you are offended easily, click away now!
Color Your Clit is interactive and intended for you to color it in. You’ll also find educational (and inspirational) information about masturbation. It’s fun, silly, creative, and informative.
It’s sized for a US Letter page of paper (8.5 x 11 inches) and comes in black and white to allow you to add the color you desire.
The best part about this zine? You can download it for free!! Our goal is to spread the awesome message of self love and care, so we want as many people to have this as possible.
If you are going to download the PDF copy, we ask you do the following:
- Color it in
- Take a photo of it
- Post it to social media using the hashtag #ColorYourClit
If you’d prefer to have a zine pre-printed, folded, and mailed to you, you can purchase that on my Etsy shop for $1 + shipping. And if you’d like to donate (even a dollar) to our artistic endeavors, you can do that below.

We need to break down barriers because there is nothing wrong with masturbating or talking about masturbating, regardless of your gender or sexual orientation. [PS – A resource for people struggling with masturbation related addiction.]
And be sure to check out Charlotte’s site for more awesome art!
Uh-mazing! I’m sending this link to a friend. We were recently in a Swap-bot swap together called “Vagina Valentines” because wow – so many women are still so afraid of their own bodies and it’s time for that to end!!! LOVE this so much! <3 <3 <3
Absolutely agree! Even if we’re not afraid of our bodies, we might not be at the point where we’re straight up celebrating them– and that’s what each and every one of us deserve.

[…] After working together on her book we realized that we were more than just good friends, but we actually work very well together. Also, we are both so incredibly weird that it just works. Mary has now taken on as commissioning my work for her blog and other work on a monthly basis, so that means there is going to be a constant influx of positive and colorful images coming in. OH NO! But yes, I am more excited than ever being able to work with such a good friend and for a cause that I truly believe in. You should definietly check out her blog, she has posted about a bunch of great concepts and even made this hilariously awesome sex positive coloring book. YEP, check that out here. […]
