Work has never been JUST a job for me. 👩🏻‍ Work has never been JUST a job for me. 👩🏻‍🎨

Don’t get me wrong. It is ALSO a job. But only because I need money like everyone else. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But wherever I have worked… it’s been a place where I experiment, connect, 🐥 and do my best to make something worth remembering. 🌻

Because I am a bit chaotic and eccentric, and my life is clearly here to be a bit of a guinea pig 🐹 so I can learn things first and report back (sometimes by choice, and sometimes that’s what life has given me)… 🧪

I do my best to bring creativity, curiosity, + my ability to see the bigger picture to what I do. 🧪And I try to do it with a bit of humor. 🌭

Most people tend to find me in moments of change. Transition. 🦋 Whether it’s on their end of mine. I don’t think that’s a coincidence after all this time.

I like to ask questions that go under the surface. I hope to share ideas that open something up. 💡 I want to be here for the parts of life that aren’t fully formed yet.

There are plenty of people cheering for us at the beginning and end of the finish line. 📣 hit we don’t really need support then because that’s when we HAVE motivation & willpower! 🏃‍♀️

We need the literal + metaphorical support in the middle of the race, those angels with the water on mile 8. 🪧🚰

Messy middles forever. 🧩 I’m honest and weird.

🩷 Learning doesn’t have to be hard. 💛 Change doesn’t have to be mean.

🩵 What if the thing you’re looking to do could be fun? 💚 Funny? 💜 What if it cool feel GOOD?

That’s what I do. 💎
📣 This week’s community feature is from Emily 📣 This week’s community feature is from Emily in PA!

I asked people in the Positive Pulse last week if they had done anything nice for someone in the past 7 days. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Responses kept coming in. 😍 And I LOVED them.

Because they were all over the place. 💗Caregiving, complimenting, chores. 🙌 Little micro acts.

🤩 It was so important because I got to reframe ALL of them as things that DO count as acts towards the 11K Project!

I want 🫵 YOU to do the same thing.

For example, Emily was just being her wonderful self and suggested to her housemate — hey, wanna go take a walk and look at the Halloween decorations? 🎃

And they did! ❣️

Things that count towards this global social experiment in creating our own good news do 🚫 NOT need to be GIANT things like making sure people have clean drinking water. 😉 Although, that obviously counts, too.

I want YOU to think about what you have done in the past week that was 🫶 NICE, KIND, or HELPFUL and submit it. 📥

If you think about it like that... I bet you have a million things to add to our spreadsheet. 🗳️

I was in line to drop off donations at the thrift I was in line to drop off donations at the thrift store & I noticed someone was having a hard time. 🚗

Cars line up, people get out & hand over their donations in a drive-thru lane. 🎁

Sometimes, the last car doesn’t finish in sync, so there’s a bottleneck. The guy in the car at the end was kind of sticking out into the road, 🅿️ affecting driving in a section of a parking lot.

But what’s ALSO important is it was taking so long because his box’s bottom fell out! 📦 So everything went everywhere. & now there was a line of cars honking at HIM, specifically, & he was frozen. 🥶

I got out of my car & said, 💬 “Hey! Do you need some help! Oh no, your box broke!” 👋 & all of a sudden he snapped out of it.

He was just having one of those panicky paralyzed moments when too much is happening & you can’t make a decision. 😳

As soon as he even got the offer of help, he sprang into action. 🏃‍♂️

Very quickly we had all of his items out of the car & he was on his way. 👍

Could he have waited till he was further up to open his car & prevented the bottleneck? totally. 💯

But that’s where we were. 🤷🏻‍♀️ & the honking?

🪿 I need us all to REALLY re-evaluate honking.

Honking is appropriate for:⤵️

🩷 A) when you’re about to be in danger or someone else is
💛 B) a car hasn’t gone at the light after THREE seconds at least
🩵 C) playing with truck drivers
💜 D) when a Merriment Maker is holding a sign in the side of the road

Honking at a pedestrian for making a mistake when you’re 5 feet away?

📢 Get off your 🍑 and help. Roll down your window and ask. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Your car is not an internet troll screen to hide behind. 😈

The funniest part was I figured the people honking were upset they couldn’t LEAVE the parking lot. Once we could move, ALL of them were donating too! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sometimes things take longer. Have some perspective. 😸 On this Sunday afternoon where you’re lucky enough to be donating EXTRA stuff you don’t need that you have to wait 3 extra minutes.

If it was an emergency, they would have gotten out of the car. 🚫🚨 But it wasn’t. So they were passive aggressive. 😡

Stop being passive. Be direct. 👉And be kind. 💕

Wanna find beauty but you’re mad AF at the world Wanna find beauty but you’re mad AF at the world? 🌎

You gotta CALM your nervous system. 🫁

🤦🏻‍♀️ You always hear how you first need to become “aware” of something before you can change it.

But what’s MISSING is people explaining that you can’t 🚫 BECOME aware if you’re ALWAYS 🤯hyper-vigilant / in survival mode!

So we gotta regain that trust with our bodies. 🔐And our BODIES gotta trust US again.

This was is an excerpt from my podcast 🎧 on the public radio show Life 💀 + The Kitchen Sink with @TrixieMcSparkle

Which was inspired by my full length 🎤 podcast: “How To See Beauty When You’re Mad At The World”.

You can listen to the radio episode on my 📽️ YT and the original anywhere you get your 🎙️podcasts.

How can YOU start to trust your body again? ⤵️
Everyone says push harder. I say add sequins to th Everyone says push harder. I say add sequins to the rock. 🪩

I’m throwing out rules teaching this class. 🗑️ It gets to be what I want, which I think is what YOU want: an existential diner booth at 3 AM with pancakes, Camus, and a disco ball. 🥞

For the secretly-hopeful nihilists, recovering perfectionists, and people who laugh-cry at weird philosophy memes. 🤪

Because if you’re going to roll your metaphorical boulder forever, you might as well make it shimmer. ✨

My people aren’t chasing “alignment”; they’re aware of the monotony of life, tired of it, but READY to get back in on the cosmic joke of rolling disco balls uphill and accidentally inspiring strangers. 🚀

Here’s a clip from the first week 🤪 of Everything Sucks, Now What? Which is an absurdist 8-week “class”. PS - 97% of people who come to my live classes report feeling lighter after they come. 💿

Join anytime, with weekly options and global currencies. Pull up a booth; the coffee’s hot. ☕

If life’s going to be ridiculous, at least make it a good show. 🎭

Sisyphus 🗿🎵🪨 🏃 would have LOVED that Kate Bush song.

I set out 3 bowls 🥣 at the BMA when I gave my 3 I set out 3 bowls 🥣 at the BMA when I gave my 30 second pitch 🎤 about the 11K Acts!

One of them was bouncy balls. 🪩

They were a HIT. 👏

People loved them. They were so much fun. 🥳 Because they ARE fun. 🧆 (I typed in ball in emojis and it gave me falafels. I like that.)

🎁 I wanted to walk my talk and make sure people had goodies and fun stuff to take with them.

I offered positioned it as something people could give as a gift to someone else, and I watched people’s brains light up 💡 and decide to take one then! 🧠 That was really cool.

So many of the people who worked at the museum told me they liked my pitch, but towards the end I actually got sassed by someone. 😡 “No, I don’t want one and I don’t think ANYONE should have one. ❌ They’re banned from the museum.”

That’s fair. I can see how deliberately bouncing a ball at an ancient vase could definitely do some damage. 🏺💔

But also, in the name of absurdity.. what if we think 🤔 about these nuanced ideas:

🩷 A) I’m handing these to adults who came to a professional lecture at 8 in the morning who are on their way out the door back to work 💼
💛 B) Can we trust these adults to understand to not bounce the balls at historic relics? 🤦‍♀️
🩵 C) You’re not conducting searches of people on their way into the building and I actually have bouncy balls on me most days, so if I REALLY wanted to, I could cause havoc at any moment... 🔓

I say this because: ⤵️

🩷 1) Even though I had hundreds of people cheer for me that day, that lady’s scowl and tone stuck with me because that’s how our brains are wired, so you’re not alone 🙉
💛 2) You’re ALWAYS going to have someone who doesn’t like what you’re doing 😾
🩵 3) We all need to lighten the F up 🥸 and consider nuance and circumstance
💜 4) If there IS an issue, speak to someone directly 🦜 instead of being passive aggressive; I would have been MUCH more responsive

MORE MERRIMENT!!! 🌈📰
