My friends, April and Cassie, started a plus-size, body-positive fashion blog with me! They’re fun-loving gals, living in Chicago, with a great sense of style and the same belief as me: just because your body may be bigger doesn’t mean you can’t dress how you want.
Way too often I hear that we should dress for our shape; that we should accent our assets and play down the “negative”. I don’t agree! I think we should be able to dress comfortably, whatever that means. If you feel good running around in a bathing suit, then do it! I don’t care if you’re a size double zero or twenty-six. You’re beautiful because of you, not the way your skirt flairs out.
If you feel better in form-flattering clothes, that’s awesome! Wear those! My point is that you can wear whatever you want, and you should. You know that meme that went viral? It’s true. If you want a bikini body, put a bikini on your fucking body.
Anyway, the past few weeks I’ve been taking photos of my outfits, and sharing them on our Tumblr. We’d love it if you followed us there and/or on our Instagram. You can see our intros to get to know them a bit better, and we hope you’ll come check out our style. And don’t worry- I’m still myself over there. I’m showcasing the stains on my shirt and twirling around in shorts in the snow. Nothing’s changed.
Oh yeah, and posing out front of abandoned Wendy’s restaurants…
Fashionably yours,
Mary…. Thanks for sharing this…. I took a look at both Tumblr and Instagram and I noticed something…. You are wearing a BIG smile!!! I would love to see more smiling from the other gals too!
Haha, aw. I’ll pass that along! 😉
SUPER! I love it! I’m following it now 🙂
Great! Thanks Erika! Hope you enjoy. 🙂
