Every month, I share new-to-me street art that I find in Baltimore. Generally, I find new pieces in all different places, but this month I want to share a very specific part of Baltimore that I discovered. It’s a gold mine of street art! (If you’re familiar with the area, you’re going to want to drive down East Lanvale Street, until it connects to Greenmount Avenue.) I did some searching, but I couldn’t find any information on the origin of the collaboration. There was a frequent use of the term “Wonderground”, but I don’t know if it’s for a specific project! If anyone has any additional information, I would love it.

This installation is the first thing that caught my eye, and I’m so glad it did! This street was magical.

Great sayings and poetry on top of boarded up windows

Wire sculpture to spell out hopeful messages

Marvelous splashes of colors

Wheat pasting!

These are three separate buildings that I collaged together. They’re all right next to each other, though! An absolutely amazing concentration of public art.

This giant pseudo air freshener hanging from a tree might have been my very favorite piece, though.

Color color, everywhere!

And lastly, a colorful hand, much like I imagine the artists’ hands looked like when they were finished creating this masterpiece!

Do you have anything like this in your city? A highly concentrated and beautifully colored area? I hope so. What’s your favorite piece out of the Lanvale Street Art?
