Many of us want to feel happy, 🤩 but we haven’t clarified what that would even look like. You can’t feel good if you don’t even know what feeling good FEELS like!

🌈 When you feel good, everything else falls into place. Trust me.

But feeling good also needs to be planned for. 📝 So what are your goals? Guiding principles? Values?

This is your reminder to write YOUR ❣️ Merriment Manifesto!

Moulin Rouge was one of my favorite movies growing Moulin Rouge was one of my favorite movies growing up, and the musical version did NOT disappoint!

The sets were STUNNING. I can’t wait to have a house I can completely recreate the Elephant room inside of!

But my goodness, the MEN in this show really did it for me. Usually I identify with femme performers, but I found the men in this show to be SO full of SOUL and SPIRIT!! Danny Burgos stole the evening for me!

Something I love about Moulin Rouge is all of the song mashups. I enjoyed that they kept some of the original mashups and made new ones for younger generations. Kind of like how Fall Out Boy redid “We Didn’t Start The Fire” with current events!

My favorite number by far was the Lady Gaga dance number. It was sensual, intense, and haunting. I had no idea I needed Lady Gaga in Moulin Rouge and now I can’t imagine it without her.

ALSO they really put on a pre-show! We got to have chocolates, champagne, play with boas, and I even took home so merch! They know how to treat a lady! My goodness!!

Thank you as always to @hippodrome for including me and DEFINITELY go see this show. This is a great one for younger audiences. The finale is worth the ticket all on its own!

Part of public guerrilla art is the inevitability Part of public guerrilla art is the inevitability of littering. 🎨🏙️

At the beginning, it’s art, but depending on the installation, as the months, weeks, days, or sometimes even hours go by, it will evolve and disintegrate as all things do. ⏳🔄

I don’t want to assume someone will clean up what I do, and sometimes things fly away. 🌬️ I can’t control the elements, and sometimes I have to release what happens. 🌦️

As a way to counter this, whenever I install art, I pick up a bag of litter to offset the footprint. 🛍️🚮

Enjoy the art! 🎉👀

If you want to be UNHAPPY, do this… 🖤 Figure If you want to be UNHAPPY, do this…

🖤 Figure out a goal you think you want based on society’s expectations and tell yourself you won’t be happy till you get it. 🖤 Start your day running late. 🖤 Rush. 🖤 Don’t plan. 🖤 Whenever something annoys you, complain about it. 🖤 Really focus on it. 🖤 Blame anything you don’t like on outside sources. 🖤 Take no responsibility for yourself, but ALSO try to control things outside yourself. 🖤 Look for evidence people are evil. 🖤 Watch the news CONSTANTLY to validate your belief something bad is always happening. 🖤 Don’t make time for yourself. 🖤 Don’t contribute to the world. Watch the days turn into years and wonder why you’re unhappy. 🖤 Do nothing to change it.

Not interested in that? 🌈🌈🌈 Want the OPPOSITE? You sound like my kinda happy weirdo!

Let’s do this thing together. 🌞🌞🌞

I had the honor of being in the 50th anniversary B I had the honor of being in the 50th anniversary Baltimore Mayor’s Day Parade!!

I walked with the Baltimore Hons in the 29th spot in line. We were paired up with Be Kind (Eric Miller) - you’ve probably seen the rainbow signs posted around town or me sharing photos of them. And the Hons also now produce Bmore Good News. I was SOOO jazzed and grateful to be grouped with such PERFECTLY aligned partners.

I was SO pumped on adrenaline and joy. I LOVE to see maximalists in action.

All these floats gave me ideas for how to decorate my yard. All these costumes gave me ideas for how to dress. Exaggerated ideas don’t need to be saved for occasions like this!

I truly had no idea how many people would be there and I totally underestimated how many goody bags and bouncy balls I should bring. Next year I will be prepared!!

I wore a sign that said FEEL GOOD TO DO GOOD and my outfit was in theme with the 50th anniversary (gold and white), except I mostly did yellow.

One of my favorite parts was seeing everyone get ready at the beginning. Seeing the inflatables grow with air, small groups practicing their numbers, taping tinsel to cars, finagling cars in order, figuring out how to squeeze mascots in cars. I love that stuff.

I also have to say that I really appreciated that no matter how you feel about the group protesting on The Avenue during the parade, it was peaceful. I didn’t see anyone yelling at them, or a conflict *about* the protest; it was pure coexistence. They are allowed to protest as much as we are allowed to have a parade. I thought it was really cool how everyone handled that.

Thank you again to the Hons for including me!! (And Bonnie for the cover photo.) I hope you enjoy the footage. There was SO much to see!
You know, Cass Eliot had a point when she said, “Make your own kind of music.” 🎶 💃

For me, that means being the bearer of good news and spreading positivity wherever I go.✨

It’s what the Merriment Makers Membership is all about—doing things your way and sprinkling joy wherever you can!💕
