this highway exit feels like freedom usually the this highway exit feels like freedom usually the light was ready for us not to go, but to enjoy we weren't waiting for anything not for the light to turn green or to grow old and definitely not for the sun to go down the responsibilities were limited the pain was minimal the songs were sweet and we played them loud i looked in the backseat they were dancing we were all dancing we felt full in each of our own ways the rootbeer was the best we ever had we couldn't believe the familiar but unique, crisp taste we thought it was magic we knew it was magic years later we found out it was birch... a different kind of sap we saw behind so many curtains lost touch tried again failed again but if you ask any of us, two decades later what the best rootbeer we ever had was we will touch our matching stars and think of a moon, a mannequin, and my chemical romance and i i still think of that ramp
