It’s a great concept, but how do we DO IT? 🤷‍♀️

I dedicated week 3 of ESNW to how to APPLY theory to tangibility. 🛠️ How to actually DO practices.

Here’s a taste. 👽

This time of year, people seem so skittish about w This time of year, people seem so skittish about what is “appropriate” and “inappropriate” for their current age to celebrate Halloween. 👻🎃

Are you a year too old to go trick-or-treating? Is wearing costumes just for babies? Should adults celebrate Halloween in any other way than doing a pub crawl in a $10 accessory you’ve decided is a full costume?

Don’t get me wrong, if costumes aren’t your thing and you’re genuinely not interested in Halloween I’m not saying you have to celebrate it. I’m just saying you shouldn’t NOT celebrate it just because you think you’re too old.

Halloween, costumes, games, and fun aren’t just for kids. They’re for anyone who wants to take part. Don’t let your chronological age determine your behavior, especially not your happiness. Do what you want.

So go trick-or-treating, dress up in a costume, decorate your house, or throw a Halloween party. 🎉 It’s your holiday, celebrate it however you want! Or do something else entirely. Feel good so you can do good. 🕷️🕸️
I told you there was more Halloween Hijinxx with A I told you there was more Halloween Hijinxx with April coming! 💀 So I introduce: Yelling nonsense out the window at strangers with a skeleton.

This skeleton has been with me for almost a decade. 🩻 His name was supposed to be Zedd. But I forgot and renamed him Zeke. So he goes by both.

Through many moves he has lost some of his limbs, 🦴 so we’ve gotten to play with his backstory ♿ about how he lost his arm and leg in his previous life. 🧟

April and I drove around 🚗 finding people to say silly things 🗣️ to with the Zedd/Zeke out of the window while we were still in our Monster Mash outfits (and playing Halloween music).

We got stares, smiles, shocked looks, laughs, the full gamut. 👀

Enjoy. ☠️

🎃 Who says Trick Or Treating is just for kids? 🎃 Who says Trick Or Treating is just for kids? 🎃

🧡 Teenagers Trick or Treating aren’t doing anything wrong.
💚 Someone who isn’t “dressed up all the way” might not be able to afford a costume.
💜 Adults like candy and having fun, too.

If you’re giving out FREE candy, why does it matter? 🤷‍♀️

We can’t ❌ teach kids to embrace who they are if we continue to push down our own desires.

🧡 This Halloween, if you want to dress up, do it.
💚 If you want to ask for candy, do it.
💜 f someone “too old” asks for candy, give it.

What privileged problems to have.

⚠️ Keep the kids “kids” for as long as possible. 🤸‍♂️ And let adults tap back into being kids as OFTEN as possible.

You are not too old to have fun. EVER. 🦦

It’s. 👏 Just. 👏 Candy. 👏

PS - candy applies to ANYthing you give out for free to trick or treaters. Toys, potatoes, money… but don’t you DARE give out raisins. 🚫🍇
