and so i began

my 14 year tradition continues... 🐰 this started

my 14 year tradition continues... 🐰

this started as a way to celebrate my inner child and be the kind of adult i wanna be. 🤸🏻‍♀️

over the years, it's also represented a 🪧 protest to values and standing firm with family, backing my 🍑 up against social norms, ⛽️ realizing i can push myself through depression to do something very important to me, and more. 🚫 i've never missed a year.

here's what this looks like behind the scenes:

⏰ i set alarms on my phone at midnight on fridays weeks before so i can get an appointment. 👗 pick out my outfit and props. 🛍️ order cards and stickers online. 🚗 drive 45 minutes. 🅿️ try to find parking at the busiest malls in the state. 🧍🏻‍♀️stand alone in line. 🤷🏻‍♀️ ask if the bunny and i can stand back to back. 👎 they tell me we're too tall and out of frame. 🖨️ wait to get my photo printed. 🤔 forget where i parked the car. 🐇wander around lost in bunny ears and have people yell fun and silly things at me from their cars. 📷 scan the photo. 🛒 order 50 copies. 💵 pick up the prints. ✉️ buy easter cards. ✂️ decorate with washi tape and stickers. ✍️ address and stamp 50 cards. 💌 mail at post office. 🖼️ tape my photo on my wall (with all the others).

A few days late but not a buck short.

I think the things i'm the most proud of this month are 1) my exposure to ☘️ and getting so much better.

2) realizing that there's no point in stressing out if I am "behind" because it's my life.

if i always have a (never ending) to do list, there's no point in letting my constant state be overwhelmed. just do what i can and next right step by next right step

3) part of 2 is I've felt really introverted lately and preferring to spend time alone. also not wrong. there's different stages and phases and I'm doing just great for me
