The life of a healthy person is a hundred times better than an unhealthy one. This is because he gets to enjoy everything at its full swing. The food tastes better, the weather looks more pleasant, and you enjoy the company of your friends more than ever. The real joy of life is hidden in a healthy body and a positive mind. But staying healthy may not be as easy as it seems to be. It demands a person to do what he has to do instead of what he wants to do. For instance, instead of having a heavy cheeseburger as an evening snack, you stick to fresh fruits.

Habits Which Will Help You Stay Healthy

Life is short and a person should enjoy it by doing whatever he wants to do. It is something that you tell yourself every time before eating junk food or skipping exercise. But you have to understand that there are consequences of your every action. By sticking to this foul motive you may enjoy the first twenty to thirty years of your life but as a result your rest of life may turn into a nightmare. By following these tips you can enjoy a healthy lifestyle with the least efforts.

Maintaining Appropriate BMI

The best favor you can do to yourself is to maintain a perfect BMI. It has been seen that people who had appropriate BMI suffered from fewer diseases than obese people. This is because obesity is directly related to a diverse range of diseases. It is referred to as the mother of diseases. Although the best recommendation to fight against obesity is diet and exercise, doing small tasks like following can make a huge difference.

  • Proper physical activity
  • Increased intake of raw and fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Divide your big meal into small meals
  • Eat at a slow pace

Exercise and Persistence

Nothing can be better than exercise. It is one of the most important and life-changing things that everyone must add in their lives. Exercise irrespective of age and gender benefits all. The more you exercise, the better it is for you. But the key to any result lies in persistence. If you are going to do a strenuous workout for one hour but just for one day, it will do more harm than good. But if you go for a 10 minutes workout for the entire week, it will do wonders. Sticking to a routine is not going to be easy so you will need some source of motivation to keep your enthusiasm high.

Don’t Fall For Any Sort of Addiction

Cigarettes, alcohol, and all other sorts of drugs are indeed lethal. It is not going to be an easy task for a smoker to quit smoking and it usually takes multiple tries to get rid of it completely. But it is worth trying. Smokers have greater chances of developing lung cancer and ulcers too. It causes atherosclerosis which directly or indirectly results in cardiovascular diseases.

Consult a Nutritionist For a Proper Diet Plan

The significance of a nutritionist can never be over-emphasized. They are the professionals who keep in view your physical health, the disease you are suffering from, and your potential chances of falling prey to certain diseases and make a plan accordingly. For instance, if you have a family history of blood pressure then the nutritionist will decrease your salt intake to less than 1 milligram per day.

But before choosing any nutritionist, look for the following traits;

  • He has respective certificates and degrees.
  • He is a professional with experience of years.
  • He takes care of small details like wearing appropriate clothes, customized or printed lanyards which you can easily buy through 4inlanyards as they are utterly famous in this field.
  • He has all the required electrical pieces of equipment.

Healthy Food Preferences

Nothing can be better than choosing healthy food over the unhealthy one. It is important to make sure that you are taking in food that is rich in vitamins. Keep the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in the diet. Do not overdo any unless or until you are sticking to a specific diet like the keto diet. You can also check out Drug Genius for more tips on keto diet.

You will not need to take any other excessive supplements if you make fruit and vegetables a mandatory part of your diet. By replacing red meat with white meat the uric acid cycle occurring in your body will improve a lot, thus it helps people suffering from arthritis. And lastly, minimizing, if not cutting off junk food completely, will better your metabolism, enhance the texture of your skin, and strengthen your immune system.

Avoid the Sun As Much As You Can

The use of sunscreen with proper SPF is compulsory. Just as you cannot leave your house without putting clothes and shoes on, never expose yourself to the sun without sunscreen as well. This is because it causes great damage. It results in severe melanoma formation. Moreover, ultraviolet radiation of skin also causes skin cancer of various types. It is better to wear long sleeves even in summers if you do not want your skin to age at an accelerated level. The use of hats that shades your face is also a good approach. In short, try to avoid the sun as much as possible. When choosing a sun protection product, go for a reliable broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least 30 SPF. If you’re staying outdoors, reapply sunscreen every two hours or so for proper protection.

In Columbia, Maryland, there’s a former grocery store that has been transformed into a department store for mythical creatures, time travelers, and intergalactic tourists.

It’s called DoodleHATCH.

You can groom a unicorn, visit an intergalactic space station, climb onto a giant’s bed, meet guinea pigs, explore an artist’s studio, and discover approximately a million other things that somebody actually sat down and made.

It’s a nonprofit interactive art museum, a community project, an educational resource, and one of my favorite places I’ve ever discovered.

And it could be demolished as part of a proposed redevelopment of the Long Reach Village Center.

But there’s still an opportunity to help.

You don’t need to donate money. You don’t need to live in Maryland. And you don’t need to know anything about zoning laws.

You can start by writing an email.

🚨 Here's what's happening

Developer Columbia Concepts has proposed redeveloping the Long Reach Village Center in Columbia, Maryland.

The proposal would replace existing buildings with new housing, recreational facilities, and other development.

Unfortunately, that puts a whole collection of existing community resources at risk of being demolished, including:

  • DoodleHATCH Interactive Art Museum
  • Maryland Fashion Institute
  • A makerspace used for community education
  • Local restaurants, shops, and service businesses
  • Early childhood education and community programs
  • A 140-foot-long mural created by approximately 100 community members

This isn’t just about losing a fabulous museum. It’s about losing an entire collection of places that people have built, supported, and relied on.

And there’s another possibility!

🌈 Meet The REALM

Lee Andersen, the founder of DoodleHATCH, and her nonprofit ManneqART want to preserve the existing community resources and transform the village center into an arts and culture destination called The REALM.

Imagine a place where artists have studios, children have room to explore, students can learn creative skills, people can attend performances, and local businesses continue serving their neighbors.

There are plans for a performing arts space, more opportunities for artists, and a Witches Kitchen that might serve you a horrible-disgusting breakfast.

Which, personally, I think sounds promising.

The people behind DoodleHATCH are gathering support to oppose the developer’s zoning proposal and advocate for The REALM.

And they’d love your help.

💌 How to help in about two minutes

If you live in Howard County, Maryland

If you’re 18 or older, DoodleHATCH is asking eligible county residents to visit the museum and sign their petition in person.

📍DoodleHATCH Interactive Art Museum

8775 Cloudleap Court, Unit 101
Columbia, MD 21045

⏱️ Museum hours: Friday–Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM.

And while you’re there, I highly recommend exploring the museum. Bring someone who needs a reminder that being an adult doesn’t mean you have to stop enjoying ridiculous things.

If you don't live in Howard County

You can still help!

Subject: Please Protect DoodleHATCH and Support The REALM

Hello,

I’m writing in opposition to Columbia Concepts’ proposed redevelopment and zoning amendment for the Long Reach Village Center (ZB 1132M), and in support of The REALM.

I believe communities need places where creativity, imagination, and play are actively encouraged.

DoodleHATCH is an extraordinary example of what can happen when artists and community members are given room to create something that doesn’t fit into an ordinary commercial space.

Places like this are rare. They encourage people of all ages to experiment, learn, explore, and connect with one another.

I support preserving DoodleHATCH, the Maryland Fashion Institute, the existing community resources, and the vision for The REALM.

Thank you for collecting these messages and advocating for the creative community.

🐹 Wait. What exactly is DoodleHATCH?

I’m so glad you asked.

DoodleHATCH is an interactive art museum in Columbia, Maryland, created by artist, designer, and professional generator of wildly ambitious ideas, Lee Andersen.

The museum is designed as a pretend department store for mythological creatures, time travelers, and galactic tourists.

There are dozens of installations, and unlike most museums, you’re encouraged to touch things, explore, and participate.

There’s also an artist’s studio full of fabric and handmade garments, workshops, special events, birthday parties, free books, and opportunities for local artists to share their work.

The museum welcomes families and children, but adults are absolutely allowed to enjoy themselves, too.

And the woman behind it has spent decades bringing creativity into the community through fashion, festivals, education, and public art.

I discovered DoodleHATCH in 2020 and loved it so much that I started volunteering.

I’ve been back multiple times, and there are still things I haven’t seen.

That’s part of what makes it special. You can keep discovering things because people keep creating them.

You don't have to live near DoodleHATCH to care about it.

There are Merriment Makers everywhere.

People turning empty buildings into art spaces. People organizing parades. People teaching kids how to sew, paint, dance, or build things. People putting enormous amounts of time into projects that make their communities more interesting.

Sometimes they’re running nonprofits. Sometimes they’re working out of their garages. Sometimes they’re making something weird in a strip mall that you might drive past a hundred times without realizing what’s inside.

I hope you’ll help protect DoodleHATCH.

And I hope you’ll look around your own community, too. Visit the strange little museum. Go to the local art show. Find the person who makes giant puppets or organizes an absurd annual festival. Spend your money at the independent shop with the handmade things.

There are people everywhere creating reasons for us to be curious about being alive.

I’d like them to be able to keep doing that.

Help save DoodleHATCH. Help protect The REALM. Help keep the world interesting.
