Everyone says push harder. I say add sequins to th Everyone says push harder. I say add sequins to the rock. 🪩

I’m throwing out rules teaching this class. 🗑️ It gets to be what I want, which I think is what YOU want: an existential diner booth at 3 AM with pancakes, Camus, and a disco ball. 🥞

For the secretly-hopeful nihilists, recovering perfectionists, and people who laugh-cry at weird philosophy memes. 🤪

Because if you’re going to roll your metaphorical boulder forever, you might as well make it shimmer. ✨

My people aren’t chasing “alignment”; they’re aware of the monotony of life, tired of it, but READY to get back in on the cosmic joke of rolling disco balls uphill and accidentally inspiring strangers. 🚀

Here’s a clip from the first week 🤪 of Everything Sucks, Now What? Which is an absurdist 8-week “class”. PS - 97% of people who come to my live classes report feeling lighter after they come. 💿

Join anytime, with weekly options and global currencies. Pull up a booth; the coffee’s hot. ☕

If life’s going to be ridiculous, at least make it a good show. 🎭

Sisyphus 🗿🎵🪨 🏃 would have LOVED that Kate Bush song.

I set out 3 bowls 🥣 at the BMA when I gave my 3 I set out 3 bowls 🥣 at the BMA when I gave my 30 second pitch 🎤 about the 11K Acts!

One of them was bouncy balls. 🪩

They were a HIT. 👏

People loved them. They were so much fun. 🥳 Because they ARE fun. 🧆 (I typed in ball in emojis and it gave me falafels. I like that.)

🎁 I wanted to walk my talk and make sure people had goodies and fun stuff to take with them.

I offered positioned it as something people could give as a gift to someone else, and I watched people’s brains light up 💡 and decide to take one then! 🧠 That was really cool.

So many of the people who worked at the museum told me they liked my pitch, but towards the end I actually got sassed by someone. 😡 “No, I don’t want one and I don’t think ANYONE should have one. ❌ They’re banned from the museum.”

That’s fair. I can see how deliberately bouncing a ball at an ancient vase could definitely do some damage. 🏺💔

But also, in the name of absurdity.. what if we think 🤔 about these nuanced ideas:

🩷 A) I’m handing these to adults who came to a professional lecture at 8 in the morning who are on their way out the door back to work 💼
💛 B) Can we trust these adults to understand to not bounce the balls at historic relics? 🤦‍♀️
🩵 C) You’re not conducting searches of people on their way into the building and I actually have bouncy balls on me most days, so if I REALLY wanted to, I could cause havoc at any moment... 🔓

I say this because: ⤵️

🩷 1) Even though I had hundreds of people cheer for me that day, that lady’s scowl and tone stuck with me because that’s how our brains are wired, so you’re not alone 🙉
💛 2) You’re ALWAYS going to have someone who doesn’t like what you’re doing 😾
🩵 3) We all need to lighten the F up 🥸 and consider nuance and circumstance
💜 4) If there IS an issue, speak to someone directly 🦜 instead of being passive aggressive; I would have been MUCH more responsive

What’s important to me with teaching the merrime What’s important to me with teaching the merriment making method/what I want people to know/what I want to share:

- Sharing the unique details and overlooked beauties of the world

- Making self-care fun

- Talking about mental health easy and non stigmatized

- Celebrating what makes people weird, and normalizing weirdness (whatever that is for someone)

- Making it okay for adults to play and connect to their inner child (and do things like have toys and stuffed animals and watch cartoons without feeling shame)

- Self-love is only the beginning of personal development— once we feel good, we need to channel that energy into something that we are good at and give back to something (a community, a person, the environment, etc.) this is the feel good to do good ethos; otherwise self-love is purely selfish and we are also here to take responsibility for more than ourselves to make the world a better place

- The world (and humanity) is better than we think it is; we need to document, share, and create good news to counteract the media’s insidious agenda for making us fearful of everything

Whatever made me was about to hit the red button t Whatever made me was about to hit the red button to send me down the soul shoot and they were like, “Hey boss? This one is like.. 60% bubbles and has almost zero spatial awareness. Is that on purpose?”

And before they could answer, someone else tripped and hit the button and I existed.

So we don’t really know if it was on purpose but I’m here.
