This February, we're on a mission to hand-deliver hundreds of valentines to nursing home residents across Baltimore, and you can help no matter where you live!
Whether you send one or one hundred, your contribution becomes part of a larger act of love, kindness, and human connection. This is your invitation to be part of something joyful, tangible, and deeply needed.
1. Make one or more valentines.
Use store-bought cards or create your own, anything goes! You can collage, doodle, draw, write, or simply add stickers and a short message of kindness.
2. Write something sweet inside.
Keep messages light, warm, and inclusive. These valentines are for seniors in a nursing home, so:
📝 Need ideas? Try writing:
Consider beginning with greetings like:
“Dear Friend,” “To My Valentine,” “To Someone Wonderful,” “Hi There,” “Beautiful Human,” etc.
Sign it with your first name, a nickname, or something fun like “Your Secret Admirer.”
A compliment ("Your smile lights up the room.")
A memory ("My favorite candy on Valentine’s Day is...")
A joke ("What did the stamp say to the envelope? Stick with me!")
3. Mail your valentines to us.
Once you fill out the short form below, you’ll receive the mailing address to send your cards.
The other main question I've received is how do I address the envelopes?
You can write on the front and be creative, just keep it general. Remember, we don't know who is getting them. But I've put together a list below of some ideas for you (scroll to the bottom)!
That said, if you don't want to address them, you don't have to! I appreciate anything you want to do or not do!
I've had a lot of questions about if the envelopes are allowed to be sealed because people have tried to join similar projects and they have a lot of rules that limit their creativity.
Here's the thing. I trust you.
Please just adhere to the general guidelines of not overdoing it with glitter and avoiding political and religious language and seal em up! Enjoy the creative process of decorating the back!!
Yep! Once you fill out the form, you'll get my address and if you prefer to drop them off at my house you absolutely can!
Everyone.
Any age. Any location. Any number of cards.
You can:
Send a single masterpiece
Enlist your classroom, scout troop, office, or book club
Make it a solo self-love night with glitter and tea
Or host your own mini craft party and send the batch!
This is an act of kindness that means more than you know. You’re helping make sure that every resident at this nursing home feels remembered, appreciated, and loved this Valentine's Day.
If you'd like to support us additionally to help cover supplies, you can do that via Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, or by joining the Glitterati Guild (Patreon) where you can help fund missions, choose specific ones to sponsor, vote on upcoming projects monthly and get bonuses!
You’re amazing. Thank you for being part of this mission.
If your cards arrive after February 5, we’ll still find them a home!
Late cards will be delivered to another FutureCare location.
Very late cards (arriving after February 10) will be saved for next year’s event.
Nothing will go to waste, your effort will always matter.
You’re not just mailing a card. You’re sending comfort, connection, and cheer to someone who might really need it. Thank you for choosing kindness.
Let’s make sure no one gets left out this Valentine’s Day.
