Hello! And Happy (almost) Halloween! It’s obviously been Halloween for me all month, and I’m warning you that just because November 1st is around the corner, the pumpkins don’t stop here. I don’t even think about Winter things until December. I’m all about celebrating things on schedule and holding space for what’s actually happening in a mindful way instead of rushing into celebrating the next thing before the first thing has even happened yet. November is still fall/harvest time! So I’m not done yet!
Scorpio Season has hit me hard. One of the first things I did was go see my favorite band, Against Me!. I have had these tickets since May, and it was amazing. They played two albums in full back to back each night (four albums total). I honestly felt alive and vibrant in a way I don’t think I’ve felt in maybe a year. It was sad in a way, but it reminded me what’s possible. The next night I had a really humbling experience that is encouraging me to deal with my shit and if passion mixed with our shadow self isn’t Scorpio, I don’t know what is. I’m pretty happy with it, though.
Tomorrow is Halloween Day, and although there’s a chance of rain, the forecast seems to be getting better as we go throughout the day. I believe in Halloween and our ability to have a crazy block party and get spooky and weird and wear costumes and delight trick or treaters with candy and toys and fog filled bowls filled with eye balls and jars with goop and fake brains. It will be okay! And worst case, I always save Hocus Pocus for the 31st. If that’s not something to look forward to, I don’t know what is. (If you need Halloween movie suggestions or TV episodes, check out those posts.)
What are you doing for Halloween? Are you dressing up? My costume is a witch being burned at the stake! Stay tuned! And Happy Samhain!
