Hello you beautiful creatures, and Happy Wednesday! Do you have anything fun planned for today? Did you do anything special over Memorial Day weekend (if you’re in the US, that is)? This is the last happiness list for May, and it’s hard to believe we’re nearing the halfway point for 2014. My wish for you is that you are feeling good about the way this year is going, that you’re making progress on your goals, and that you are making time to appreciate the great things you’ve already accomplished.

Physically, I’ve been feeling dehydrated and anxious lately, so I’m going to try to make today about taking care of myself. Lots of water and relaxation! (And if anyone wants to bring me a cookie, I could really use an oatmeal raisin one right about now.) That doesn’t mean this week hasn’t been lovely, though! Here’s an incomplete list of things that have made me happy this week.

+ hanging out poolside with Charlotte on Memorial Day
+ a six-year-old saying “It’s a boo boo” in a condescending way
+ cleaning the house and creating more storage space
+ taping up paper letters in a tunnel
+ writing my CV

+ wearing old balloon ribbons as a headband
+ writing a make out bucket list
+ the second episode of Broad City, when Abbi is in the dentist office
+ Gobstoppers
+ putting up decorations in my studio

+ Charlotte accidentally buying beer that matched her outfit perfectly
+ a washi tape sale at Office Depot
+ J at the post office asking why I was sending “plain mail” (it wasn’t for me)
+ running three blocks barefoot in a thunderstorm to get to flash mob practice on time
+ the class applauding me for showing up soaking wet

+ returning to a secret place in a park from my childhood
+ signs that say “commode” instead of “toilet”
+lunch at a small pit beef place with Richard
+ coming up with bar scavenger hunt ideas
+ hearing a girl say the following, in a very “Valley Girl” voice, as she entered Spencer’s:

Uhm, are you guys out of beer bongs?

+ going on stage at an amazing It’s Always Sunny themed burlesque show
+ April bringing me presents, including tinsel & paint swirl envelopes
+ watching April and Ida staple money to Reggie’s thighs
+ writing a ton of postcards at a picnic table
+ handlebar mustaches

+ doing my mermaid baptism in the woods
+ seeing a weird safe in the middle of the street
+ blasting “Livin’ La Vida Loca” in DC at 2 am
+ interpretive dance with a dead branch in the street at night
+ free strawberry cheesecake shots from a nice bartender

+ glitter on my floor
+ Caylee referring to me as “Mary G. England”
+ ordering balloons to twist
+ free magazine subscriptions
+ birthday presents for friends

What’s on your happy list this week?

PS – Mary Mail is back. I’m sorry for the long hiatus, but I’ve added it to my schedule, and you can expect bi-weekly updates from here on out. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so in my sidebar.
