Happy August! | Uncustomary Art

Hello, you beautiful Uncustomary Readers! I want to thank you all for coming to my space on the internet, whether today is your first time, you’ve followed me through countless transformations, or you just pop in every few months. Thank you. Thank you for your support, your feedback, your inspiration. I blog because I feel like I have something to say or share, and the participation I get from you makes it so worthwhile. I’m grateful for each and every one of you.

You may have noticed a slight decline in posts recently, and unfortunately, it’s going to stay that way at least for the next month. This month’s main goal and focus is finishing my book, and I hope you understand me taking a slight step back from the blog temporarily. I will be checking in with you Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays this month, though, so don’t worry, I won’t completely fall off the face of the earth! And you can still follow me on social media like Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. And don’t forget to play along with my Instagram Challenge for August: #UncustomaryAugust.

My book is taking priority, and while I’m thanking people, I want to say another round of thanks for supporting my Kickstarter that is what has made this project able to happen. There are still twelve days left of fundraising, and anything you can donate is very much appreciated!

July Photobooth

I can’t speak for you, but July wasn’t as terribly hot as I was expecting it to be here in Baltimore. Swamp-ass humidity? Yes, always, but it wasn’t the worst July of my life by far by any means. August is Happiness Happens Month and Panini Month. (What’s your favorite kind of panini?) You can also look forward to Underwear Day on the 5th, Geocaching Day on the 15th, and Daffodil Day on the 28th. Of course, you don’t have to wait to start celebrating. Today is Sandcastle Day! Quick, go find some sand!

My top ten things for July: + getting my Kickstarter fully funded + visiting Artscape + April’s baby shower + pool days + fireworks on Joe’s roof + seeing The Acrocats + getting a key to Joe’s + days of color-based photoshoots with Cristen + getting a publisher and things in order for my book + Stubing/camping

Okay, your turn! What were your favorite things about July? What are you looking forward to in August? This post is coming to you live from camping grounds in West Virginia, where I’ve been relaxing and going tubing for the first time! I can’t wait to read your responses when I return to regular internet. Sending you love!
