FAQ

Q: Do I need a physical confirmation to get into the party?
A: Not really. I'll make a list of who bought a ticket based on your name and e-mail address. And if I ask, the secret password is FLUBBER!

Q: Where is the party?
A: 616 Chestnut Hill Ave. Baltimore, 21218

Q: Is it available by public transit?
A: Yes. It is a ~13 minute walk from the nearest bus stop.

Q: How is parking?
A: We're in a neighborhood with free street parking.

Q: Do I need to know anything about your house?
A: I have multiple cats. The bathroom is on the first floor. The house is a duplex, enter on the right side through the yard. The door is on the porch. You need to walk up to steps to enter.

Q: Do I have to dress up?
A: I strongly encourage it. That's a huge part of the fun of Halloween. It doesn't need to be store bought or fancy. Just try. I will have some props for you here if you need it.

Q: Your theme is "Not Scary". Does that mean my costume can't be scary?
A: That's a great question! I don't want to inhibit your expression, AND my goal is to promise people nothing scary for an evening. So if it's possible for you to make your costume something that isn't excessively gory, bloody, or typically scary like clowns, spiders, or horrifying masks, that would be very cool of you.

Q: Can I bring a friend?

A: You can, but they need to buy their own ticket.

Q: Is there going to be food?
A: Yes! I'm going to have all types of snacks and some more entree type food. Stay tuned on Facebook closer to the event for the expected menu.

Q: What if I can't make it?
A: Tickets aren't refundable, but they can be transferred to a friend. If this is your situation, please e-mail me what is happening ASAP with the name of who is taking your place and their email address.

Q: Are we going to be outside?
A: Yes. There will be indoor and outdoors activities. There will be a DJ and seating set up outside to make sure we can accommodate everyone.

Q: Is there a rain date?

A: No, we'll make it work!

Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Nope!

Q: 35 people sounds like too many. What if I'm anxious?
A: It's definitely more than my small workshops! But here's the good things about the structure of this party:

- There will be name tags
- With a larger crowd it can actually be easier to be alone if you want to (it's less intimate)
- There is still a structured scheduled, so you don't have to rely on talking
- There are ongoing stations and activities so you could probably roam around and make stuff and do challenges for hours independently if you wanted
- You can wear a costume that can give you more confidence
- The best way to move through social anxiety is to get practice; and the best way to get practice is in an environment with people who feel safe-- like fellow weirdos!
