One of my goals for 2013 was to do some guerrilla gardening. Guerrilla gardening is basically just planting flowers and plants in unexpected places. You can see some awesome examples here and here.

I went to the thrift store and bought a few containers that could be easily transported. When I got home, I spray painted them and added some beautiful flowers and soil to each container.

I left the containers at various places in Baltimore, in an attempt to add some color and life to the streets. One of the containers was a suitcase, and I got this idea from the wonderful Color Me Katie!

I left one in a median strip, on a ledge outside a convenience mart, and in the middle of a vacant lot.

Any kind of container can be used to hold flowers! Pails, boxes, rain boots, buckets, bowls, you name it!

Keep beautifying space any way you can!
