Birthday Balloon Release Uncustomary Art

My birthday was last weekend, and it was really wonderful. It was actually a three-day-long celebration that ended up continuing sporadically for a whole week just because two of my very good friends (Ashley and Mike) also have birthdays within four days of mine. The height of my celebration, though, was meeting with a bunch of my friends in middle of Fells Point for a balloon release.

Before you get your panties in a bunch, the balloons were bio-degradable and we removed the ribbons before we let go. It was a beautiful, whimsical, and meaningful gesture for me in honor of the beginning of my 27th year of life. We wrote what we wished for on our balloon and, as a group, let them float off into the sky.

Our wishes were about our jobs, animals, adventure, birthdays, penises, transportation, and, of course… world peace.

I could have watched them float away on repeat for hours. Luckily, I have footage of it, and between my and Jason’s Go Pro cameras, I can relive the moment for the rest of forever. So can you.

Another great birthday celebration was how April decorated my car. And if you like balloon releases, you might want to check out the one Michelle and I did in DC. Thank you to everyone who came out, not just for the balloon release, but for my birthday in general. It was so party!
