Last year, I made an inspiration board and asked the people of Baltimore to tell me one thing they did in 2012 and what their main goal was for 2013. It was fun, and I decided to inquire again. I put up three signs in different neighborhoods (Hampden, Fells Point, and Federal Hill), asking about 2014 goals and resolutions.

These installations make me feel so connected to my community, and I’m ecstatic that all three were there when I came back to collect!

Here are some of the responses:

+ eat more cake
+ pass junior year
+ visit Emmitsburg
+ stop smoking
+ have more fun
+ quit drugs and get my family back
+ eat delicious food
+ work harder at listening to others
+ invent teleportation
+ get my shit together *
+ give high fives
+ get drunk and be somebody *
+ take risks
+ get fit

+ do the tough stuff
+ love everyone
+ make a difference in someone’s life *
+ less rape
+ do the right things in life
+ be nice
+ be kinder and more understanding
+ smile more often
+ judge less
+ no more procrastination
+ eat more spicy chicken
+ lose weight
+ stop telling my kids to “hurry up”
+ write on a light pole
+ Barbara Streisand’s PP **

* = my favorites
** = brownie points to whoever can explain this one to me!

Thanks to everyone who participated! I added little QR barcodes to the signs, so hopefully that made it easier for you guys to find these results! And check out this great shot I got of two girls adding the very first goals to the Fells Point sign. I had barely gotten back in my car before I saw them do a double take and start writing.

What about you? What are your resolutions for 2014? If you need more help, check out this list. It’s never too late to make a change!
