It’s been quite a busy time since I last updated you with a Weekly Happiness post. I started dealing with Computer Vision Syndrome, which made me nauseous/dizzy every time I looked at a computer or phone screen. I took a week off from screens to see how I’d feel. It’s doing better. I can be on for a couple hours at a time before I start to feel seasick. I decided this was the perfect time to truly step away from the digital world and get back into creating and adventuring in a tangible way. I set out to find street art, colorful mailboxes, and interesting strangers on one of my many drives through Baltimore.

During that drive, I made a left hand turn and was T-boned by an SUV. Both of my driver’s side airbags deployed, saving my life. I didn’t break any bones or get any massive wounds. I’ll write more about this at a later time, but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive of me during this weird time. It’s not official yet, but Gabby (my car) is totaled, and the amount of time I’ve had to spend on the phone with insurance agents and in doctor’s, lawyer’s, and police offices has been substantial and draining. I’m feeling much better, though. The pain has gone from miserable to manageable, and I think I’ll be okay with a few chiropractic appointments in the near future.

I’m grateful to be alive more than ever, but I’m left with a financial burden of getting a new car. If you’re able to contribute even a dollar to my Go Fund Me campaign, I’d sincerely appreciate it; I know you work hard for your money.

I really appreciated what my friend, Charlotte, wrote about my car/fundraiser/me. The truth is, it really is much more than a car.

I’m still not spending nearly as much time online, which is both difficult and wonderful. I really need to make money, but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying spending time with people without having to worry about updating SnapChat and Swarm, checking comments, e-mails, and social media. That said, my inbox is an absurd atrocity, and if you’re waiting to hear back from me I do apologize. If you need to vent or some support, please check in with the Uncustomary Babes group on Facebook. You’ll find some immediate sounding boards and love there.

Here are some happy pictures from life recently.
