Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Do you have any plans today? I’m probably just going to get a drink this afternoon and hang out in my green clothes.

There’s a lot of cute stuff traditions surrounding this holiday, like leprachauns and following a rainbow to the end to find a pot of gold. Once I learned that Mrs. Queen lied to us in kindergarten when she said that whenever we see a rainbow, the exact opposite point of us on the southern hemisphere is also experiencing a rainbow, I thought about how it seemed kind of unnecessary for there to be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Have you seen a rainbow? It’s one of the most majestic things about the universe. Between science, nature, and our senses we are able to witness a colorful miracle when the conditions are just right.

For years, I had this persistent worry that whatever I was doing wasn’t as good as it could be. It seems like a lot of people have that these days with social media, or at least FOMO (fear of missing out). If you’re having a good time, just let it be so. Appreciate the good in that moment. Don’t worry about what could be different or better, just love the rainbow you’re in. Stop searching for the extra gold.

When you stop wishing for things to be better and love the life and situation you already have, you’ll start to feel like the gold has found you.
