“I must say again thank you so much, and now that I’ve come to the end of your course, I’m so happy I signed up as I just knew I would be. Not only have you brought so much bright colour and inspiration into my life, you’ve reminded me on how important those little things are. Finding the little happy simple moments and building on them to create a butterfly effect that flows into other parts of our lives. And taking a little time to practice self-love, carving out that little bit of time in my day just for me. Even after this course you will be there brightening up my day via Instagram.”

Nikki

“This lady is THE most colorful, no-apologies babe on the internet!”

Rae

“I just wanted to let you know, yours is the first blog I’ve ever subscribed to that I have not wanted to unsubscribe after a few emails. Getting your mail in my box is…well exciting and comforting, and a true motivator for me. I found your blog right before going into a huge life changing event which has propelled me into being on my on for the first time in over a decade, with a chronic illness, and so many plans to finally stop being afraid of success and go kick ass. Of course, it’s slow going, but your blog helps keep me focused on my art and creativity and tap into my true self confidence. So, thank you for creating such a beautiful thing.”

Kylie

“Thank you for helping me find confidence in who I am. Because of you, I am so much happier and healthier. I worship you.”

Cristen

“You are changing the hate in me.”

Olivia

“Thank you so much for offering this e-course on Self-Care. Getting emails from you every day and having the external reminder to do something kind for myself gave me the gentle push I needed to start taking care of myself again. After the ups and downs — mostly downs — of this past year, I am finally coming to respect my need to rest and mentally recover. The joy and kindness you share is very tangible, even though email, and it has steered me back into the direction of learning compassion for myself.

“When Mary came out with her new Self-Love E-course I wanted to take it so bad, but due to some financial issues I just couldn’t justify spending money on any course even if it was one of Mary’s courses. 🙁 I was bummed out to say the least, but then in true Mary-style (for she is a generous person) she puts out a free e-course called 7 Steps to a Grateful Life, needless to say she brightened my day, even though I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to get her Self-Love E-course! But back to the 7 Steps To A Grateful Life, so here is a FREE course which completely blew me away, I am comparing it to other free e-courses I’ve taken in the past all of which were thin in content comparison to Mary’s courses. Everyday I found myself reading the email for that day over and over till I was completely awashed in it. Then I started to probe around in that brain of mine searching out the answers to Mary’s questions, making me look deeper at that day’s subject matter. Inspirational quotes for each of the days always put me in the right frame of mind in order to get my mood and my brain on topic and present. Sounds awesome right well guess what that’s not all you get, Mary includes worksheets, printables, and suggestion lists to go along with the content with this course. I’m going to mention this again people it’s FREE, you have nothing to lose but so so much to gain! So get out there and join any of Mary’s courses you won’t regret it. So take a deep breath, yarn bomb something, wear glitter everywhere, and just be the youest you you can be! See this is what Mary taught me I’m not just a stay-at-home mom I am many things and one of those things is a person who deserves things that are just for me, things I don’t have to share with anyone else, like every soda I’ve ever tried to drink around my kids for the last nine years! So take my advice and do this for you!”

“I think what you are doing is really fantastic, it is uplifting and fun and sooo vibrant. I have loved reading your emails and all the info you have passed on. All the wonderful ideas and advice. I believe you are helping so many people. What I do want to mention is…could you add somewhere in your course that older people can gain insight and help from your course. I myself am of the senior age 68. I just think a lot of the older generation miss out on all the FUN and VIBRANT info that you share.”

Alita

“I thoroughly enjoyed the Self-Care e-course. There was loads of tips and ideas ALL FOR FREE. Mary has a way with words that’s playful and sincere. Thank you for inspiring me and many other women to incorporate self-care into each day!”

Andrea

“This Is About You is a wonderful book (and workbook!) for those who struggle with self-love. Seriously, one of the best books I’ve ever been able to relate to.”

Kaelyn

“Uncustomary changed my life! My body feels clean feels smooth and I just feel completely changed my spirit is different and I am so much more relaxed! I encourage you too, to take this course; it’s life changing!”

April

“I just took the free 7 Steps To A Grateful Life course and loved it! I liked that it had tips that I had never thought about like thinking of the worst thing that happened fairly recently and write 3 reasons how it worked out to be a ‘good’ thing. Also, the print-outs were very helpful as well!”

Allie

“You’re so brave and innovative. When people look back on your life, they’ll all agree that you really changed the world for the better.”

Gabriele

“A big THANK YOU for a great course that changed my attitude towards gratefulness completely! You’ve transformed a Must into a May which is a fantastic new kind of freedom I’ve never known. Thank you again and keep the Good Work going!”

Shannon

“Thank you for creating something so important!”

Amy

“I first found Mary and her blog while looking for suggestions on what to write to penpals about, I did receive some awesome suggestions via her many lists on this subject, but I also found a blog full of life! Self-love and how to live with intention were not really topics that I felt were relevant to me as a stay-at-home mom because my life was chaos, dirty diapers, and sleepless nights, but I found myself drawn to Mary’s blog and kept returning on a daily basis, sometimes to read her new post for that day or just to delve into her blog archives to find past posts. Needless to say I was instantly hooked boy the wonderfulness of it all! I needed more so I turned to Mary’s Etsy shop where I bought 4 awesomely rad postcards and signed up for 12 Days Of Mindfulness. In flew emails of the most awesome variety; Mary has tons of ideas and inspirations that leaves you patting yourself on the back for a job well done in treating yourself to these life changing e-courses.”

Ashley

“The past couple years I’ve felt heartless and you make me feel emotion.”

Jessica

“Mary is one of the most incredible women (strike that, humans) I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. She’s just one of those people, you know? If you step into her kaleidoscopic universe, you’ll be forever changed… In the best possible way! Mary sees beauty and magic in everything, not least her gorgeous self, which makes her so uniquely equipped to teach this course. Her energy and sense of wonder are infectious and you can’t help but smile when you hear her talk passionately about what she knows best – how to get to the bottom of what makes you fabulous. Being part of Self Love: The Key to Happiness feels like getting a big, sweeping hug from Mary, but also – crucially – from yourself! It’s the ultimate present to give yourself (or a loved one) when you need a good old dose of self-lovin’, or simply when you want to tune back into what makes life – and you – so damn amazing. I love it, and so will you.”

Kelly

“Mary is such an inspiration to me. I love her creativity, but most of all I’ve loved learning about who she is through her art and her writing. Behind every creative, sparkly, and funny person is often a lot of hurt and pain, and her honesty is beautiful (as is she).”

Andria

“I believe God has put Mary in the world in this time and place for a very special purpose: She teaches us to see ourselves and each other through the eyes of love because that’s how she looks at us! She doesn’t hide from the tough realities of life, but she helps us believe that we can get through them with sparkle, fun, and maybe just a little bit of crazy! And most importantly, that we can get through them together.”

Meredith

“You are such a bright shining star and just bring life and energy wherever you are!”

Michelle

“I have found so much more peace and comfort in my life by using the steps in Mary’s “7 Steps to a Grateful Life” e-course. It makes it so much easier to slow down and enjoy my life when I get into a mindset of gratitude and focus on the things that I already have to be grateful for. It’s helped me when my depression becomes a struggle to sit quietly and meditate or journal on all the good things in my life and I find that I’m more focused on finding those little things now. It’s helped created a real shift in thinking and I love it!”

Carly

“What can I say? You bring out other people’s sugar!”

Olivia

“Mary’s Self-Love e-course has been a great experience and I’m only a week in! She offers such a rich source of material for me to choose from and I have access at my own convenience, which is perfect for my crazy-busy schedule. I love that her audio recordings feel like hanging out with a girlfriend who has your back! She knows what to say on the topic in an authentic way that I can relate to. Plus she gives multiple tools to make personal progress possible, like playlists to listen to or worksheets to fill out, plus loads of reference material. It’s like a grab bag of self love prompts that I can access any time and anywhere! I’m excited to do the remainder of the e-course and allow Mary’s lessons to inspire me to make positive changes in my life.”

Melissa

“Keep doing what you’re doing! The world needs it!”

Maureen

“Thank you a billion times for our fabulous Happy Hour! Sometimes you just gotta stop, twirl, dance and embrace your own awesomeness. And that’s what you gave my sister the freedom and opportunity to do! And thank you for coming to our home so prepared with happiness tips and a binder full of specific resources, tools and reminders of ways that my sister is awesome–all in a setting of balloons, confetti, tiaras, ribbons, music and banners. We both LOVED your cool ideas of little things to do around town. Who knew our neighbor was so chock full of great, easy breezy places to go for fun? Not me! You have no idea what one Happy Hour with all the accouterments did for my sister AND for me! We are so doing this again, girlfriend! Count on it. Everyone and anyone who would like to cheer someone up — or cheer themselves up — should book Mary NOW. She’s a true professional and a true badass bringer of joy, color and happiness. #uncustomaryisawesome”

Jani

“You might get tired of me saying this to you…but you are a GIFT! Thank you for your brilliance, and your style. I’m so appreciative!”

Monarch Workshop

“Mary England is the raw and real, inspiring and colorful voice of fun and truth. She is quirky in a way that makes you want to dig deep and be the most honest version of yourself with zero shame, and she is deeply steeped in knowledge that, when married with her playful aura, combines to form the most intriguing and trustworthy combo. She hosted a ‘Merriment Booth’ at our Fall 2015 workshop, which encouraged hand written love letters, free play, quirky oddities, and self-love! In plain words, she’s f*ck#ng fantastic, energizing and definitely one of a kind.”

Amy

“I’m currently about halfway through your book, and it is so inspirational! It really came at a perfect point in my life. I have major depression and it has come back hitting me hard. I’m currently in a Partial Hospitalization Program at a local psych hospital and it is doing wonders. Thank you for doing what you’re doing and thank you for your strength!”

Sarah

“The Uncustomary Premium Package is such an incredible offer.”

Anonymous

“I absolutely loved the 12 Days Of Mindfulness. It really helped me with my stress-levels, this school year has been quite stressful. So getting a little something each day to remind me to be positive, slow down, and take a little time to to think, is fantastic. I definitely recommend it!”

Huxley

“You would have been my favorite Lisa Frank sticker. And then I would have been upset that I couldn’t get you out of my sticker book to play with.”

Cara

“Collaborating with Mary is both easy and fun. She’s got all the technical specs you’ll ever need for a successful blog post, friendly reminders of deadlines, and somehow she makes you feel awesome and like you’re doing her a huge favor, when I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around. If you get the chance to work with Mary on anything, SNAG IT, because she really does ‘play well with others’.”

Kim

“Uncustomary’s 12 Days of Mindfulness was a wonderful, very grounding set of exercises. For me, staying present in the moment can be a real challenge. My work is entirely interrupt-driven, and by the time I get home some days my concentration is shattered. Mary’s exercises helped me calm down, gain focus, and were very fun to do. I don’t want to spoil anything, because the surprise factor was part of the joy, but the exercises were creative and original. Some of them even made me feel like by doing them I was helping make the world a little bit better – a truly unexpected bonus.”

Carly

“The work Mary put into her e-course is beyond evident. The e-mails are like a collection of fantastical bits and pieces of Mary’s brain, each with a daily assignment at the end related to the message for the particular day. Stories are told, stirring up stories in your own head and motivation to be creative. If you’re suffering from any kind of artistic block, I highly recommend it.”

Olivia

“The monthly surprise package was packed with so many goodies! It really made my day to receive a package like that, where it just seems to keep going and going with surprises. What I love the most is that even though that was a few months ago, there are certain items that I am still thinking about using artfully, so the fun just keeps on giving! For example, the disposable camera I want to bring for my nephews to document playing. Or a ceramic piece that I want to turn into a pendant on a necklace. It’s like the creativity is contagious through the items you chose to send. It’s super playful and happy-making and I love it. Can’t wait to get another!”

Kaarin

“I am so appreciative of Mary’s thoughtful words and ability to cut through everything and still be kind and positive. In short: I think she is brilliant.”

Cristen

“Thank you for reminding me that there is truth and love is real. You came into my life at a strange time and no matter what mood I’m in you seem to always make me happy and pick me up when I fall. Thank you for being there for me when I needed it the most and without question just swoop in and then save the day every single time. ‘I love everyone’s phobias and things.’ I love you Mary Mary quite contrary with every tick of my beaten down heart. I couldn’t ask for a better friend. You make me so happy.”

Jessie

“I just wanted you to know how amazing you are, with everything you do to brighten the lives of the staff here. You have made me happy and picked me up when I’ve needed it most, and you haven’t even known. You are an inspiration to me…I want to take the things that you do and use them as a manager in my next job to make my employees’ workdays more enjoyable. Thank you for everything that you do for the employees at the Lodge…you deserve to know the impact that you have.”

Juli

“I thought about you a lot yesterday because I was feeling VERY down and negative about myself. I knew to just let it flow away and it pretty much has. I know you’d given me a pep talk and possibly given me a task that’d make me view things with a more positive perspective. I’m sure just thinking about you and the joy you share helped me get through my terrible funk. So – thank you.”

Sara

“Mary, thank you for making other people happy with your creativity.”

Ella

“You are so inspirational and such a bright, utterly delightful ray of creative magic – I know I sound like a crazy fan-girl, but you are all that.”

“Mary does things that most people are afraid to do. She lives her dreams and keeps pushing to get the things she wants. She makes every single day incredible and she makes me want to be better and inspires me to live a happier life. She challenges us to take a look at ourselves.”

Bianca

“I actually referred to your work in an essay I wrote this week about ‘Art Of The Everyday’- I had to reference artists whose work connected in with the ideas of the everyday leading to seeing beauty and understanding the world and it fit perfectly! I wrote about art as experience, the ‘accidentally miraculous’ and Bourriaud’s relational aesthetics in relation to your work – thanks for being awesome enough to reference in an essay!”

Judy

“You make my soul tense up in excitement to the point that I think I might have a seizure.”

Caylee

“May you continue to be yourself and look for the goodness in each day, and turn little things into marvellous things. You are such a great person and deserve for the world to rain glitter on you every day. You are by far the best character I’ve met on the internet. I say character because knowing you is like knowing a fictional character that has been made up to inspire goodness in others and make them feel really great about themselves and life. Something that most other people smush down. You are great because of how you make others feel. You are a fantastic human. Your life is one deserving of celebration, for sure.”

Ashley

“You are a beautiful creature and I’m so happy you are who you are and you’re working so hard. You give me faith. I told my therapist I have two opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of friends. Losers and people like you, Mary. People who inspire me. You inspire me. You grabbed life by the balls and said, I’m doing my dream and getting organized and going to work hard. I hope you know how brave that is.”

Mary

“ I signed up for the Awesome Package and it’s so fun getting cute things wrapped so nicely. It made me smile; It’s pure sunshine!”
