Plate Smashing | Uncustomary

In my Creative Dreams Support Group, for Chapter 2, one of the Weekly Challenges was to release negativity. One of the activity ideas was to smash plates.

On my birthday, my friend, Jenny, gave me some presents which included the most delicious and beautiful cupcakes I’ve ever eaten, and some plates she had been meaning to get rid of with the intention of me completing the challenge. I loved it!

I waited till the Full Moon in Capricorn, and I sat down with Sharpie paint markers to write down all the things I want to release in my life.

Then, I went out to the parking spot in the back, and smashed the plate with Joe. I’ve never actually smashed anything before. It was actually on my Bucket List to smash a bottle, but this totally counts.

The reason I’ve never done it is because I have had so many broken glass related injuries in my life, I’ve always disliked when people couldn’t clean up their trash at the sake of aggression. The amount of scars or times I’ve fainted at the sight of blood because someone smashed a bottle in a park or in my high school is too high to count. So I wanted to make sure that when I smashed something it was in a controlled environment and I could immediately clean it up, which I did.

I had no idea what it would feel like to smash something. I imagined it would feel good, but you never really know until you do. If you have the opportunity to do this, I recommend it.
