How To Motivate Yourself When You Feel Like There Is No Hope | Uncustomary

Feeling like you have no hope is awful, and it can be so hard to change your mindset and to see the positive. Lacking motivation and positivity can be all-consuming and overpowering, and all you need is the strength to fight it, which is the one thing you’re lacking. According to a depression treatment program, fighting it can feel like an impossible challenge, especially during times of intense hopelessness as depression is a complex issue and manifests itself uniquely to those affected. Because of this, there is no single way to treat everyone. If you do need to see a professional and get professional treatment, then don’t wait. It’s important that you do get treatment as soon as you can. However, if you are just feeling low and think you might be able to do something about it yourself or if you’re too scared to talk about it just yet, then there are ways you can try to crawl out of the hole you’re in and find the light again.

Try To Remember That Things Will Change

Although it can be difficult, try not to assume that things are stuck the way they are. Life changes all the time, and so can you. You have to be able to take the rough with the smooth and know that it will get better if you can hang on in there. When things are going well, we know it won’t last forever, and we enjoy the moment while it lasts and make the most of it, however when things are tough we seem to think it will last forever.

Accept And Learn

Whatever is going on right now, try to accept that it is what it is, learn from it, and grow from it.  It doesn’t matter what has happened in the past; what matters now is what you do from here. Realize that the only thing you really have control over is yourself at this moment and you might just need to look at the situation with fresh eyes and an open mind, and then take the next step.

Use The Pain

While the pain, frustration, and inconvenience are difficult, try to use it to motivate you rather than holding onto it an getting angry about it. Only you can control the way you look at life, so try to find the lesson in everything because the way you handle situations is always more powerful than your circumstance. The place where you ultimately end up is so dependent on how you play the hands you’ve been given. The most effective way to move away from something you don’t want is to move toward something you do want, gradually and consistently.

Never Stop Trying

Your effort is never wasted, even if it does lead to disappointing results. Making an effort will always make you stronger, more educated, and more experienced and remember that just because you are struggling does not mean you are failing and every great success requires some kind of struggle to get there.

You will get you there, one day at a time.
