Grow Positive Thoughts
Positive thoughts aren’t natural. They don’t come to us without trying. What we have naturally is called a negativity bias, and that makes it SO easy for us to find the bad in any situation. Finding sparkly linings is a skill. Creating positive thoughts is an instrument that has to be practiced. You have to grow positive thoughts with the same care and nourishment you’d give to a garden that’s just starting out. You can’t berate your thoughts into being nice. You have to be gentle and kind with them. Understand why they didn’t want to be positive in the first place. Tell them that’s okay and you don’t judge them, but explain how you can work on being more optimistic in the future.
