One of the things on my Bucket List is to visit all of the attractions listed on the Roadside America website. I’ve done a bunch of check-ins to recap my visits to these places, but the most recent attraction warranted its own post. Monster Mini Golf sounded really excellent, but then I went to the website and realized it’s not just monster themed, it’s glow in the dark! It’s only about fifteen minutes from my house, I can’t believe I had never been before!
Joe and I went there on a day date after we stuffed our faces with some R&R Tacos (tacos that are made in a little stand attached to a gas station which sounds gross, but they’ve gotten tons of awards and been on many Food Network shows) and I was so excited when we walked in! Outside it just looks like another part of a business park, but when you walk in you’re transformed into a crazy dark wonderland!
We had a coupon for Tuesday Couples Day, so the whole thing was only $12 and the only other person in the building was the employee. We had a blast! There are eighteen holes just like a normal mini golf course, but everything is either pitch black or black lit neon. The paintings and sculptures are all monster/Halloween themed and fantastic!
There’s also an arcade with prizes, a place to hold parties, and novelty items to take home with you. There are locations in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Alberta in Canada. If you have one near you, I strongly recommend going for a visit!
Have you ever been to one of these locations? Would you go if you could? I think it’s a really good idea for an October/Halloween activity! Stay tuned for more roadside attractions later this month.
I have nominated you for The Sunshine Blogger Award, you don’t have to take part but it might be fun. You can see more details here http://quirkylittleplanet.com/the-sunshine-blogger-award/
You’re so sweet! Thank you, Hayley!
So, I am completely batty about anything Halloween. I even collect Halloween trinkets/snow-globes/decorations year around for my “Halloween room” :p Needless to say, I am jealous! It looks insanely fun, I’d definitely go! I’ll have to look around here in CA to see if we have anything remotely like it. Very fun post 😀
Me too! I LOVE Halloween. It is objectively the best holiday, I’m glad you agree. If you’re ever in MD we must go!
